The DPBH Public Service Internship Program is designed for students seeking hands-on experience within the Division of Public and Behavioral Health. Selected candidates will be mentored by dedicated employees who are passionate about their work and committed to strengthening the agency. Through this program, students gain valuable exposure to the government sector, explore diverse areas of public health, and contribute to meaningful projects at the state level. The internship helps prepare students for the workforce by building practical skills and professional confidence.

Bureau of Behavioral Health Wellness and Prevention

Internship experience focuses around developing a data system to support BHCEN-certified behavioral health providers. Interns will gain experience in data analysis, quality improvement, and performance evaluation while collaborating with the quality assurance team to enhance provider outcomes.


Community Health Service

CRSF Health Data & Reporting Internship

Gain hands‑on experience in public health research and data analysis while contributing to statewide prevention efforts. As part of this project, interns will help prepare reports for the Committee to Review Suicide Fatalities (CRSF), including comparisons of suicide trends across Northern and Southern Nevada, and support the review of Psychological Autopsy Assessments.


Data Analysis & Entry Internship

This internship gives you a behind‑the‑scenes look at how public health data moves, why it matters, and how it’s protected. You’ll help build a centralized tracker for Data Use Agreements (DUAs), a project that strengthens transparency and supports collaboration across Nevada’s public health programs. It’s a hands‑on opportunity to work with real systems, contribute to meaningful infrastructure improvements, and gain practical experience in data governance, compliance, and public health operations.


Director’s Office – Data Analysis Internship (Part Time)

The Department of Human Services – Director’s Office, Grants Management Unit (GMU) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Data Analytics Intern to support their team in building, maintaining, and optimizing data tracking spreadsheets. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with structured data, has strong organizational skills, and is interested in developing practical experience in data management and analysis. The primary focus of this internship will be the creation and refinement of data tracking spreadsheets that support both State and Federal funded programs.
