Graduate Medical Education Grant Program

Nevada Health Authority Opens Applications for Graduate Medical Education Grant Program
Nevada struggles with significant gaps in health care access due to ongoing physician shortages across both urban and rural communities. While the state produces strong medical school graduates, many are forced to continue their training elsewhere because Nevada lacks enough residency and fellowship positions.
The Nevada Health Authority is pleased to announce the official opening of the application period for new state funding to expand physician residency programs through the state’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) Grant Program.
Nevada’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program supports the development of the state’s physician workforce by funding advanced medical training in high‑need specialties. The Nevada Health Authority (NVHA) administers a competitive grant program for Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)‑accredited institutions and oversees the Advisory Council on GME, which reviews grant applications, studies residency and fellowship needs, and advises on strategies to recruit and retain physicians in Nevada.
Eligible entities may now apply for this competitive funding opportunity through April 24, 2026 at 11:50pm. You can find more details at the link here.
