Nevada AHEC Scholars Program

The Nevada AHEC Scholars Program at High Sierra offers graduate‑level students hands‑on educational and clinical experiences focused on serving rural and underserved communities in Northern Nevada. Scholars participate in Rural Outreach Clinics, expanded coursework, and interprofessional learning events that strengthen their skills and connection to local communities. The program prioritizes students who plan to practice in Nevada and, when funding allows, provides scholarships to support their training. Supported by HRSA, AHEC Scholars prepares future health professionals to lead, serve, and improve health outcomes in high‑need areas.

This two‑year program covers eight core topics through a blend of classroom learning and hands‑on training designed to develop well‑rounded, compassionate healthcare professionals. If you are interested in applying, please complete the NAO AHEC Scholars Interest Form
