Salary Range
- $218,000 – $378,000/ year
Education & Timeframe
- Start Your Journey: Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field Duration: ~4 years
- Advance Your Expertise: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school Duration: ~4 years
- Gain Experience: Complete a residency program in surgery to gain specialized training and experience in surgical procedures and patient care. Stay current with surgical techniques, patient care practices, and relevant research. Obtain board certification from the American Board of Surgery (ABS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS) to enhance qualifications and career prospects.
